Month of july

Image
Wow, what a month July has been! I have really enjoyed starting my new program and getting used to all the changes. I have had lots of fun outings this month. I started a new volunteering opportunity at Uni Pro, where we relabeled and counted stock. I also got to use the sealing machine!  We also spent some time with our friends from Wilrose, where we got to join in with them for the day, partake in singing and dancing too, it was nice to get to meet some new faces! We hiked up Papamoa Hills, which was a bit challenging, but definitely worth it, the views are amazing from the top of the hill!  We were also lucky enough to go to Dive Crescent for some fishing, we didnt catch one but it was amazing to be out by the waters edge. I have started a new woodwork project where we have been cutting up logs and turning them into little garden houses. We have also been volunteering around the community by visiting local parks and picking up rubbish. Overall, July has been a busy a...

Month of june !

une has been a good month back at Palmers, and I love going there and tidying up the weeds growing along the pathway. It's always a good time going to Greerton Hall, playing games, and meeting new people. We also had a pamper session where we did some self-care and made a homemade face mask. I have also tried out a few different recipes, including a chickpea curry, which was sooo yum, and some muffins for the ball. I have enjoyed following the Soccer World Cup this month. I picked the Netherlands as my team to follow. I enjoy going swimming and throwing the ball around with my friends from Arohanui. Sports is always one of my favourites, and we gave the human board game a go where you roll the dice and do the challenge for the square you land on . We also had a basketball challenge with our new basketball hoop. At Palmers, one week I had a sore hand, so I couldn't do any gardening. I enjoyed being the boss and pointing out all the weeds instead. Another week, I enjoyed being ...

Month of May

May has been a really good month. Back at Palmers, and I love going there and tidying up the weeds growing along the pathway. It feels good to help keep the place looking nice, and I enjoy being outside while doing it. We joined the Tauranga Brass Band for one of their practice sessions and shared a morning tea with them afterwards. It was so cool to watch and something different from what we normally do. Everyone was very welcoming, and it was interesting hearing all the different instruments being played together. We also went on a Yatton Park adventure, where we decided to walk towards Fraser Park Reserve, but we didn’t make it to the end because time was against us. Even though we didn’t get all the way there, it was still a nice walk and good to get out and enjoy the fresh air. I have been playing lots of games of Connect 4, as it’s my favourite game, and I’m becoming the king of winning. I really enjoy the challenge and always look forward to another game. We went out to th...

Wilrose Centre

Due to Sailability cancellation we visited the Wilrose centre for the day. In the morning we watched them rehearse their karakia songs. I used the pois to couple of the songs. After lunch I played on the Wii game with Scott. We played ten pin bowling and I worked a sweat. I really enjoyed the outing. DG
